This blog is a space for honest stories, thought-provoking questions, and practical tools for personal and collective growth. It’s inspired by my work as a coach, facilitator, and founder of The Lost Art of Random Conversations — and by my life as another human doing their best to make sense of it all and enjoy the journey.
What if it all works out?
What if I can’t even begin to imagine the possibilities and new opportunities waiting for me on the other side of this big change?
What if Joseph Campbell was right—that the cave we fear truly does hold the treasure we seek?
What if trust is the key to navigating big life transitions?
My New Home
By the time this post goes live, I will have moved to San Diego, California.
(Add that to the list of things I never thought I’d say out loud.)
With this transition comes a flood of emotions:
Gratitude – that I have the freedom to do something like this.
Grief – for the beautiful community and mountain home I’m leaving behind.
Excitement – Wait… I get to live near the beach? I can swim and surf whenever I want?!
Loneliness – Here I am, once again, in a new place with few familiar faces—by my own design.
Freedom – After letting go of so much, I receive the gift of space—in all areas of life.
Overwhelm – How do I find and afford that beachside co-living community I dream of? How do I create financial abundance in a brand-new place while still keeping in touch with loved ones, taking care of myself, exercising, meditating, and, oh yeah… sleeping?
Courage – Keep showing up. Get 1% better every day.
Vulnerability – There’s so much I don’t know. So much I’m scared of. And I am choosing to share that with the people around me.
Trust – Be on process, not outcome. One day at a time. I can handle what comes.
Letting the Universe Handle the “How”
A wise teacher once told me:
“Focus on the WHAT and the WHY. Get as clear and specific as you can. Then, let the Universe handle the HOW.”
For much of my life, this spiritually-centered approach hasn’t been my default setting.
But the more I grow, the more I experience the truth of it.
My job is to show up—for my work, my relationships, my personal growth, and any new opportunities to contribute.
To keep moving forward.
This perspective brings me peace. It reminds me that my role is not to have it all figured out—but rather to trust that even my biggest dreams, no matter how impossible they may feel, are not out of reach.
To notice my fear and worry as they arise and meet them with the knowing that…
I can handle what comes.
Trusting the Unknown
I will continue to trust that it will work out.
Maybe not exactly how I expect it to.
In fact, life is unlikely to look like my expectations at all.
It will likely be far bigger and better than I could have imagined.
Because it’s not the fear of failure that scares me most.
It’s the fear of success.
What if it all works out…?
I don’t need anyone to tell me it’s going to be okay.
I just need people to see me, nod, and remind me to keep going.
To keep trusting the process.
In Reflection
Some questions I’ll be sitting with:
How do you distinguish between internal resistance and external barriers when managing change?
How do you cultivate resilience during transitions, especially in uncertainty?
What role does self-reflection play in navigating change, and how can mindfulness help?
What techniques or habits help you remain adaptable when faced with unforeseen challenges?
What personal tools do you rely on most when facing significant life changes—and why?
📸 This was taken at the beach on Captiva Island, Florida earlier this year. As this post goes live, I fully intend to be at a beach on the other side of the country—San Diego—swimming, surfing, and staring in awe at the endless blue with sand between my toes.
